I prefer stop signs to roundabouts. In Ireland, I experienced several low-radius roundabouts in succession, and they always made me nauseous. If roundabouts are made large enough to be pleasant, they are fine but take up a lot of space. I&#

I am a fan of buying empty tea bags and then filling them with loose-leaf tea. The more enviromentally friendly way to have tea that is not oversteeped would be to use a metal strainer, but those can be a pain to clean. I didn't know t

Medical insurance will often cover therapy, even if you are not diagnosed with a Major Disorder of Doom. Of course, the deductibles can also add up.

I disagree, I think it's very much essential to the point. For one, 10^(i*pi) is some horrible complex number, which is what you'd expect when exponentiating random complex numbers. Exercise: figure out what it is from the rotatio

Yes, that's exactly why I think Ithkuil should have an error-correcting layer on top of it. It's interesting if one could be designed in a way that is different from natural language, but still useable and effective.

It seems to me that, in order for such an informationally dense language to actually be used, especially as spoken word, it would need to include a layer of error-correcting codes on top of the basic language. That could be a fascinating li

From the "trivia" section of the article (not sure what their source is). "Von Braun was heard to say that it would have been preferable to develop rocketry for space travel rather than war. But if it was necessary to develop

I can't help but imagine the world where the state government is in one time zone and the federal one is in another. At least one of the traveler, the airport, and the FAA & TSA will be on a different time zone than the others.

Sounds neat. However, the fact that `ls -l` either subtracts two numbers or calls a shell command, depending on whether there exist valriables 'ls' and 'l' in the Pythom environment, looks like a security nightmare waiti

I think your goal should be not to judge to what degree each side is correct, but to learn a little about what people in the area are doing, what they did in the past, what they find important, and why. That way, there is a lot more you can

I'm very confused about how bad this is, the article seems unclear. Does it allow malicious apps steal the OTA codes? Does it allow malicious apps to steal the keys used to generate the OTA codes? Does it allow a user to see the keys?
