Right, perhaps it was a different time, but you need to limit the power of most users, especially in a school setting, or you cannot maintain the uptime of the system for everyone. I know in our computer lab in high school, which was a seri

Fresh hardware? Are you kidding? If you make a decent salary you can buy your own hardware whenever you feel like it. A $2K MacBook Pro is a drop in the bucket compared to paying a 6 digit salary.

I'm not sure - I've heard of an Android app that can send video to an AppleTV, but I haven't heard of an app that can receive video from an iOS device. If you know of one, I'd appreciate a link.

This is very cool. Do you know if this would work with AirPlay video streaming as well as audio? I can imagine it would be pretty cool to display video on any PC monitor.

It seems like one could pretty easily point out the logical fallacy there. Another thing is that most governments and corporations don't necessarily look at the positive benefits so much as the negatives. That's one reason why I like this

To be honest, most people that are great developers didn't just turn middle-aged, think "I want to be a great developer," and spend a few years becoming one. Most of these developers have been hacking since they were literally single-digit

The problem is that this encourages lazy development. Many developers love the ability of tools like Tomcat that allow you to run your web app inside of the application server itself, rather than having to configure a pesky Apache server.
