I'm not sure how either of those situations would trip up the system they're using. For a system trained on the background image, what difference does it make if the subject is holding a cup? The cup is not the background image, a

Yes, you're right. Better let this play out and see what happens, people's lives are less important vs. your ability to stream HD content because you have a great connection.

It seems these elements would be easier to use in illustrator. This doesn't seem to provide any iso grid snapping? Based on the homepage I assumed it would allow me to draw isometric things, but really it just lets me place pre-drawn a

It's a global pandemic right now. Netflix has taken immediate action in a way that matters (ensuring internet access) and has yet to take action in a way that doesn't matter nearly as much (making their high paying customers happy

What's the better alternative? At at time like this we need immediate action. I value human lives over due process, personally.

This is a non-issue & complete speculation. Netflix already manages stream quality based on network conditions and has likely done so for years. If the government wants to ensure network access they should be talking to the ISPs, IMO.

This is very common pattern in open source, I don't see anything strange about this particular case.

What benefit would that have vs SVG? It strikes me as cumbersome if you wanted to quickly add icons to an existing project, plus your ability to style with CSS would be limited compared to inline SVG.

I'd at least like to see what a more fair & open content market would look like. So far it's just anti-competitive, anti-consumer bullshit for TV & Movies. I haven't pirated a game after Steam got big. I haven't

It's not a silly assertion, it's just that you've taken silly things away from this article. He's asserting that if you're too self interested / lack empathy you will hurt yourself in the long run.

The term is intentionally vague because what constitutes an 'asshole' depends entirely on domain specific traits. It's very clear what this article is getting at.

There's nothing wrong with non-interactive html web pages just like there's nothing wrong with JS rich web applications. The web is big enough for everyone.

Yes, fair. But that doesn't make it more effective vs. simply washing your hands with warm water & soap.

Yup, gotta clean all those bacteria off your hands to avoid a virus, right? Just use hand soap. It's more effective. (yes I know alcohol still kills the virus, but buying hand sani isn't necessary when we already have a more effec

It's actually more effective. The virus is essentially protected by fat, which is easily broken down by soap. In fact it's what soap is best at. Anti-bacterial hand sanitizer isn't the best approach for.. well, a virus.
