Wonderfully formulated! I have been making a similar effort and found that gradually these glimpses became easier to get into and I've even had some spontaneous ones. I do wonder how much this can be expanded alongside an urban 9 to 5

I agree with the core sentiment, but not the "without hurting anyone" part. Porn addiction (and its consequences) has been the elephant in the room for a while.

Exactly. My bet is it's simple greed, and that it shuts enough people (and revenue) out to make Google a pretty penny. Likely it was a decision based on analytics that Google, and no one else, has. Imagine we are talking a cable TV pla

Sydney is probably less cycling-friendly than you expect. I don't have the source but I remember reading that the trend over the years has been removing bike lanes instead of adding. Edit:typo

The 10 years part is not quite accurate. Play store used to have fantastic organic discovery that gradually started deteriorating some 7 or 8 years ago until it reached the current state where everything is an ad of some sort. AppStore nev

My guess would be that he knows what he wants and wouldn't dance to their fiddle, plus his ideas and methods must seem super risky from a producer's perspective.

Professional artist here, and I can tell you there are as many different opinions as there are people, including those who couldn't care less. But if you look at the hot take mic drop platforms, you will of course see either hype or ou

Initially I had similar misgivings (I make visual art professionally and music as a hobby) but then I realised AI will not prevent me from creating my own stuff, it might just give me more options to use. A big part of my motivation is enjo

Mod Archive is a fantastic resource[1]. Mod/s3m/xm files searchable by title or author, sortable by number of downloads, etc [1] https://modarchive.org/

If you are already familiar with the LSDJ workflow, I can't recommend Dirtywave M8 enough [1]. It is to LSDJ what Renoise is to Protracker. [1] https://dirtywave.com/

Apologies, I should have made my comment clear instead of trying to be witty - what I meant was that Koalas are marsupials, not mammals. That said, I agree with what you are saying. We tend to assume a bigger than likely distance between us

Renoise uses a similar brick stack system for signal flow. Not sure I'd want to swap it for nodes. That said, I love nodes in Blender, Twine, Sunvox, Shadergraph, etc, but every node-based programming system I saw so far was torture.

FWIW I did not read it as schadenfreude at all, instead as a realisation that the OP is not being let go due to their individual shortcomings, but likely as part of a broader context that says more about the current state/politics of t

I can't shake the feeling the experience just isn't optimised for what we want as users. For quite a while Google Play had fantastic organic discovery based on previous likes, but then it just got taken... elsewhere.

Reminds me very much of AdamAtomic's Flappy Jam entry [1] that was later cloned as a fairly popular mobile game called Don't Touch The Spikes [1] https://haxeflixel.com/demos/Flappybalt/
