Hmm...yes, m.gizmodo.com seems to work, provided you manually remove the '#!' and leave the rest of the URL alone. In theory if one had a web server running locally, one could add gizmodo.com to /etc/hosts and map it to loopback, then confi

Ah, I was not aware of seq; good one. :) Good point about not needing semicolons for multiple-line stuff (assuming the EOL's are not escaped, as you have it in your example). I blame the PHP I spent all week immersed in...bleh.

True. Usually when creating a shell loop like this, I prepend 'echo' in front of 'ssh...' as a dry run first. I also wouldn't actually use something like this for commands that are destructive in nature. Usually it's for things like runn

I am currently using darkspectrum[1] for diff output and candycode[2] for everything else. There is a huge gallery of them, viewable with several code samples, on the Vim Color Scheme Test page[3]. [1] http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.ph

Do you mean the warning was there to tell you that you would need to manually unfollow everyone in Google Reader, or that it was there to tell you that everyone in Google Reader would be unfollowed by disabling Buzz?

So does that affect the people you follow or who follow you in Google Reader? I've been hesitant to do this, because I've never been able to find an answer to that question. I've read through seemingly related articles on help.google.com

I suspect one technique would be to add extra fields to the HTML form that are hidden when the page is viewed in an actual browser. Any submissions with values specified for these fields would likely come from a bot, since a normal user wo

It's interesting how seeing the screenshots (for me specifically, the Atari one and to a lesser extent the c64 one) can instantly trigger a flood of memories and nostalgia. Wish I hung onto my XE, if for no other reason than to mount it on

Hmm...It would be interesting if one could subscribe to a personalized feed of some sort. Currently I skim my github feed in Google Reader every couple days. The biggest problem with it is that I watch RVM, which is fairly high traffic. It

I recently heard or read somewhere (can't recall the source...doh) that if you answer 'Yes' to that question, not only will you be switched to plain HTTP for your current session, but for all future sessions as well. EDIT: here's a reasonab

Thank you both for the additional insightful comments. In my case, we were told the topic of salary adjustments will be discussed (so I suppose it will be more of a combination performance/salary review). So I should probably be prepared f

A really great article to have in my head a week away from my first annual review at my current company. Selling myself has never been a strong suit (that whole social awkwardness thing, seemingly common in geeks). Stressing future plans
