I read things to this effect in the internet, but then you have more than one Scheme system that runs (or is able to run) on top of the JVM - effectively making this problem disappear. So, I guess I am looking for other differences, things

I am surprised no one mentioned TeXmacs ( http://www.texmacs.org/ ) yet. It is a WYSIWYG editor that can both import from (works reasonably well) and export (works perfecly) to TeX. By using it you can always do things nearly as quickly a

Discussions about the meaning of words, while sometimes fun, only rarely produce any useful results. Generally it is better to choose some precise definition in your context, and see what you can build from that / where does that take you.

I use http://www.nearlyfreespeech.net/ . They bill 8.59 for a top level US domain renewal or registration. Their service is good for anyone that understands DNS - they let you directly edit your DNS records.

Exactly. Wake up every day without using an alarm clock, and take a nap when you feel the need to. Unless you have problems with your sleep, this will ensure you are in your best mental shape, when awake.
