My original comment was "Python is losing to Ruby, Go, and JavaScript". From purely a job market perspective I can't see why'd you'd invest time in learning Python over Ruby and JS. For non-blocking I/O people

My recommendation for you is to work on your reading comprehension skills since they are severely lacking.

Go is actively working on this. Go 1.5 will have concurrent GC and is shooting to stop the world for only 10ms. You can read more here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/16Y4IsnNRCN43Mx0NZc5YXZLo...

Python is more popular in the sense that it is often listed as a "nice to have" on many resumes, and is also often used by non-developers like DBAs, SysAdmins, biologists, & mathematicians. But from a "build a new product

I don't think this is the case. Google has rejected a number of higher profile open source projects this year, in addition to Mozilla.

As far as languages goes it seems to be mostly Ruby(Rails), with some JS (Node.js, Angular.js, React, and Ember.js). If you're a senior developer there seems to be some jobs open in Python and Go (maybe this is because what I Iook for)

You're quite active in spreading FUD in this thread. Please stop. Node 0.12 was released and ships with v8 3.28.73. Most (if not all) of the bug reports you cite refer to needing NAN 1.5 which fixes issues with v8 > 3.28. NAN is use

You put an interesting spin on reality. I don't know the exact history of node-forward, but node-forward/node was only a piece of the node-forward repository. Early on it was my impression was that node-forward was just about coll

Thanks for the interesting perspective. One of the things that has always bothered me was that in your thread Isaacs was adamantly against a foundation. Suddenly now he is all for it. Was he simply repeating the Joyent party line then, or h

You're entirely missing the point if you think this is just about ES6 or even a better v8. There are a number of core contributors to Node.js that are unhappy with Joyent's stewardship of node.js. The core contributors want to wor

It is way to early to say there isn't a way to port to 2.0. 2.0 doesn't even exist. Again, the code will not stop working magically just because your code is 5/6 years old.

Angular.js is a framework, so it's no surprise that you have to understand how it works and use its idioms. It's also batteries included, so it makes certain choices for you in exchange for cleaner integration. These are choices y

Angular 1.x won't magically stop working when Angular 2.0 is released. The upgrade path from 1.x to 2.0 is not available/clear/whatever but that doesn't mean that 1.x isn't the best choice right now.

If you're a developer not coding C++, C#, or maybe Java then Windows seems to offer a sub-optimal work experience. When forced to use Windows, I almost always end up coding in a vm.
