Intermittent fasting and writing down what you eat religiously worked for me. Use an app to keep track on your phone: Fastic, Noom, LoseIt, etc. Some people go with other diets like ketogenic diets, those work too. Another option is to ask

A missing option here is Work from home, prefer working from home and meeting regularly (e.g. a week a month) at some nice destination (e.g. Hawaii).

My only wishlist item for `ssh-agent` that would make all use of the agent safer, or nearly as safe as a hardware key, is that it had the option for an interactive confirmation dialog or mechanism for the user to confirm the source, destina

Millions of same-sex couples may benefit from this research in the future if it helps make it possible for them to conceive (directly biologically related) children. EDIT: Oh gosh, it's right there in TFA, that's what I get for sk

Long enough for the network effect to take root in many countries. IIRC, it was at least 1-2 years in Israel and other countries, and today WhatsApp is ubiquitous there. J2ME apps showed up on a few smartphones too.

In this case, there are 2 graphs/networks (3 if you count the "Orbs"), 3 different kinds of Sybil attacks, double spending, ECC signatures, and more. It's easy to lose track. I wrote it to check my own understanding. ht

I was responding to this in GP: > reMarkable might do it for me if they had a more powerful CPU onboard and a way to get your code to run on it so the device can be tailored to solve more use-cases. And there are a few app loaders/p

They give you SSH root access to the device. There are many many apps people have developed for it, look for the reHackable GitHub repos. (The SSH root password is in the help/about section where the open source licenses are listed.)

There were three concepts being conflated in the comment I originally replied to: Sybil attacks, double spending prevention mechanisms like Proof of Work and Proof of Stake, and exactly-once delivery to members of a group (i.e. what a coin

Proof of work, it’s inefficiency, or it’s security implications on transactions more generally are not relevant to your comments on the vulnerability of their coin faucet or the veracity of their claims.

One possibility: You might be getting that AAAA from a v4 DNS server (or resolver/cache), whereas `dig -6 fly.io` attempts the query over v6. For example, try `dig -4 fly.io AAAA` ("use a v4 DNS server address from /etc/

You are viewing the list from a position of great privilege, due to your greater knowledge. Many devs don’t understand how sudo or setuid binaries even work, some may not even know that sudo itself is a setuid binary. Asking interview quest

In networking parlance, BGP is a distance vector routing protocol, as opposed to link state routing protocols like OSPF. Distance vector: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Distance-vector_routing_prot... Link state: htt

Maybe read RFC4271 instead if you're looking to learn about the protocol rather than just about this implementation, just be aware there are many extension RFCs (see the list at the top of the link). https://datatracker.ietf

Can you be more specific? Outside of residential internet connectivity, it's pretty easy to find an business ISP or transit provider or peer that's willing to push full BGP tables in my experience...

Zerotier seems a bit too clever about auto-discovery/peering. For comparison: WireGuard, by design, is a fairly simple protocol that requires some other software or out of band configuration to provide the peer pubkey list (among other

WireGuard itself doesn't even handle its existing authentication fully -- you are expected to exchange peer public keys out of band. There are several projects that try to tackle this public key exchange. I think what you're askin
