Off topic, but I had to make an Android game for my Junior year final project, and I think I used that exact same space ship sprite (it was an Asteroids clone with motion controls).

I tried using Clojure to build my personal website. I love it, and can't wait to see where it goes next. However, the documentation problem is pretty real. Clojure libraries get updated and deprecated really quickly (because the langua

Yeah, I can't tell how many of these are Webkit clones and how many are really novel approaches. The fact that so many of them actually have enough momentum to have a well designed and unique logo really blows my mind though. It's

HN doesn't have that much content, I never feel overwhelmed. The front-page turnover rate is really slow, to the point that I pretty quickly get my "fix" and then leave. Over the course of a day I might sink an hour into it,

Man, I learned about Betteridge's Law a week ago, and ever since I've been having some serious Baader-Meinhof. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baader-Meinhof_phenomenon

Short selling is a different game. In essence you're betting that the price will go down. Right now the price could go down $500, and you'd make $500. However if the price rose $10,000 you'd lose $10,000.

My problem with /r/programming is the front page. If you go below 15th place you'll see a cesspool of posts with interesting looking titles, tons of downvotes and no comments explaining why. I feel like the readers there are

One of mine was "password1". All the hints were things like "usual", "standard" and "the one I use everywhere". Although not unexpected, this is scary: Not only are people using the same password ever

Fair enough, maybe it only affects a small number of people. Still, if there's an easy to spot solution (like if the photo and counter are in the same <div> or something) it'd definitely be worth checking out. Especially if

This has always bothered me, both on Amazon and the iTunes app store. No lie, when I published my first app, one of the comments was "I'd rate this zero stars if I could." and my first thought was actually "wait, why can

One thing I noticed: The live count of how many people are reading this post is cool. However, every time it updates, it makes the author's picture flash, which started to give me a headache.

I would absolutely do the same. Get one of the apps that downloads WikiVoyage and you have a detailed guidebook for all of Europe (including phrasebooks for every language) that doubles as a camera and flashlight and fits in your pocket.

It's a bit more of embarrassing if you're the Sass consultant and the client is the one bringing it up. At least, that was what I gathered from the article.

For all the talk about how "MongoDB totally has SOME use cases", I've never before heard of a use case where it would be unambiguously better to use a document store. Thanks for explaining that so well.
