Who would know just how long a MAC address is? Jeez man, these things are literally written as 6 bytes separated by colons. Asking a network engineer this question is about like asking a postman how long a zipcode is.

I thought the same. The claim in the first paragraph that experts "knew" torture would not cause long-lasting psychological harm is so absurd on the face of it, I lost interest in the article pretty fast.

I am outraged by the drug war, therefore I will not vote for a drug warrior. Not sure what else to say.

I will never, ever vote for anyone who supported the drug war. Yes, that includes you, Hillary.

I learned FORTRAN in at a summer job between jr and sr years of high school from the source code of some version in 1978 on a MODCOMP mini computer with IBM terminals where I saw zeroes with dots in the middle for the first time.

This is the 1729th time I've heard a form of this joke just in the past year. Hey, I just noticed something. 1729 is the smallest positive integer that can be written as the sum of two cubes in two different ways.

I am @iconjack, poser of the question, ask me anything! Kidding aside, as an avid user of the whole stackexchange suite, it is kind of interesting to me how popular this question became. It was only my second question on graphics design and

I hope you didn't read my comment as saying Python 2 is better. Personally I don't have an opinion on that. But as you can see from this thread and many, many others, a lot of people are disappointed with Python 3's choices.

Well I'm sure this is a naive point of view, but I'm going to put it out there anyway. It seems there are many Python devotees out there who are lukewarm about Python 3, and quite a few who really don't like it at all, hence

Microsoft tried something similar years ago with HTML Applications (.HTA), essentially web apps that could talk to the file system. Didn't seem to work out, though.

Back in the 90s, there was a piece in Wired by Will Shortz about then-president Bill Clinton's crossword prowess—he claimed he could solve the NYT puzzle in about 10 minutes, if I recall. But readers who would care about this would a
