I think I might have misread what you've said - Are you saying Ruby somehow scales better than Python?

When making these kinds of submissions, it's helpful to provide some context. Like... what is this? The linked site doesn't make it clear.

Kind of - you can use Mono to write on all the platforms you've mentioned. The UI layer will have to be different for all of those, but if you can segment all your business / game logic into a library, you could certainly share a significan

What does this have to do with integrity? It wouldn't be evil if Steve Jobs / Apple decided to make OSX more iOS like. We may not like it, but it's not evil. Today OSX users are very fortunate that they don't have to deal with viruses or sp

I'm not suggesting it would be an evil master plan. I could easily see Steve Jobs deciding that the Mac experience would be much simpler and better if Apple reviewed all software that went on the Mac, exactly the same way he's decided that

Today you have a choice. Who knows what the next version of iOS/OSX brings. I personally don't think Apple would try to go this way, but I also didn't think they'd be such pains in the ass about cross-compiled applications getting on to i

Overtime is usually time spent on the clock while "on-duty" - i.e. still performing their regular police duties, but hours over their standard workweek. Whereas an off-duty officer might be patrolling a bowling alley parking lot or high sch

Is it possible that it OTHER reflects off-duty work? I know some cities allow their officers to work off-duty but in uniform, and the places that want to use them have to pay the city directly instead of the officer.

The URL comparator appears to be a simple (case-sensitive!) string comparison. There are many ways around the dupe filter.

I can't agree with this more. It's really frustrating to write web apps that work on all the standards compliant browsers, and then have to make all sorts of hacky changes to them because Microsoft decides to do its own thing. We're a .net

The dupe in this case is kind of interesting - this submission is in fact the second submission, and the URLs look identical. It appears that the dupe detection is case sensitive. I have more details here: http://news.ycombinator.com/ite
