I'm rather curious were you went to school, this sounds kinda nice. It's the direct opposite situation here (very little on campus housing, cook all my own food, don't do too may extracurricular activities because it's all rather expensive)

Maybe I just have had good luck with it, but I have never had problems like this with any version of Ubuntu since 6.04, but I'm also not running intrepid yet.

Trac is amazing, I've been using devjavu.com for secure hosting, and it comes with svn+trac. But trac and svn are really easy to set up on a linux server if you have the time and interest.

Ya, I was not seeing this as a company thing. I don't believe that a Linux distribution is a smart way to start a company(although it has been done), I think it would be a fun project if I had the time though.

that's the point of Ubuntu's tasksel. It still needs a lot of work, but it is very powerful.

"It's a limited market." Fantastic! That's the perfect reason to do something like this. Sadly I don't think anyone will be doing it in one night, I believe that this is a realistic request. The whole point of Linux (and Unix before it) is

These are all great computers, now if only people thought about price. All of these 3lb 13" notebooks are cool and really what I want for a notebook, but can anyone afford them?

As you wander into the great unknown to create the next big thing, remember two important things: 1) The little guys and 2) The great words of Dave Chappell, "Byahhhhh!" Best of Luck.

I won't be switching, at least not yet. I think as a technical innovation, Chrome is amazing. But in terms of user friendly features (who doesn't prompt to close a window with tabs?) it has a long way to go. Google has a history of this wri

I switched over when I recently got a new job. I need to be up at 5:30 to get to work on time, and if I don't got to bed by 10, the next day sucks. Friday, and Saturday though I tend to stay up later.

I really liked this article. In my mind the general thought was. If you don't think about what you are doing when designing your application, you will run into problems. No matter what you do, you will run into problems. So be prepared to a

I think this is a little excessive. It really implies that someone got a strong high school education. A lot of the public high schools where I grew up sent a small portion of students to college just because the school system was hurting v

What I really like (honestly) is coders who talk to you and say, I have this great idea, wanna help me make it better? This is rare but really cool when it happens. It also makes me hope that more business people would bother to learn more

For some reason this article reminded me of this old TV segment that was hosted by the Genie from Aladdin. The title was "Great minds think for themselves." The title always stuck with me (along with apples "think differently" slogan) in th

This is neat, not something I would actually use, but neat. Well designed and easy to use. I went to the page and instantaneously understood what it was for. Which, in my mind, is the sign of a well designed and good application. Nice work.

Ya that wouldn't be bad. I'm a bigger fan of random news articles though. Have an area somewhere on the page where it puts up a random article from sometime in the last two months. This way you can be reminded of what was happening just a l

I've always been a big fan of Linux User Groups, as such I hang out online with the two that I've been the most active with #cplug and #nblug on irc.freenode.net. I also check out #ubuntu on occasion.

I would highly recommend Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for a computer science curriculum. The location is beautiful plus the education is top notch. There is no graduate program so even though the school has 20,000 students, classes never get ov
