I think that's basically what SC1/BW did. There was a professional game last year[1] where one player (Jaedong, probably the best Zerg at the end of BW) had one unit blocking a ramp in his base, and something like 30 hydralisks stacked up b

Not OP but my feeling is that none of the git GUIs are particularly good or feature complete and I usually end up having to drop to a command line if I want to do anything interesting. That said, I really like `gitg` for its tree view and g

I think you're right and the guy you replied to misspoke. Xen running Windows is called HVM which seems to be distinct from paravirtualization.

I think this is really a fine response considering the pretty terrible way the original post was written and the community responded. The simulation was a bit of a stretch because the supposed number of servers you need to achieve "equivale

I'd just like to add that they enabled it by default for cars they lend to media outlets for reviews after the Top Gun thing. Some people in the other thread were freaking out about how much Tesla knows about your car but a regular customer

Working pretty great for me on my Ubuntu+AMD desktop. Laptop is a clusterfuck of drivers though, Linux switchable graphics support sucks :( Edit: Though I haven't tried anything too fancy yet, just FTL and Bastion. So maybe 3D gaming might

Eh, I think the PR2 beta program institutions ended up buying the PR2s, although probably at a discount from the sticker price of $400k. I worked in one of the research labs that had one and we ended up buying it recently at a pretty steep

This is a flaw in libcURL, and last I checked wget was just a binary, not a cross platform library.

Eh, it's not like porting to Android has any bearing on porting to desktop Linux since the UI toolkits are completely different. I guess this would be cool, but I'd be surprised if many people used it over LibreOffice.

It'd be interesting if you could just apply CSS to title attributes rather than have to add stuff to the DOM to reimplement a basic browser feature. Certainly these types of tooltip libraries look and behave better, but I wonder if it's rea

Especially when a lot of sites include their name at the beginning of the title, I just end up with a lot of tabs titled things like Comm.. and Hack.. etc. When I use Firefox I use Tree Style Tabs so it's not a problem but with Chrome there

I agree, a nice shiny app store with icons could be a great feature for Github users and developers using their APIs. Right now service hooks are pretty buried in the settings panel.

Honestly, I consider myself extremely introverted, and I do all those things to avoid talking to people, but I kind of wish I didn't. I actually like random people talking to me about random things.
