I did have Problems with ceph many years ago but have many hyper-converged clusters that run ceph without any problems. In the last years I am running rook-managed ceph without any real problems.

But most Linux distros are not that great either. They don't implement TUF and are not safe against some vectors prevented by that. It's OK to start anew when container distribution poses a different problem anyway. https:/

That's not how I would describe it and not how it was described at that time. It was deemed necessary to discontinue legacy extensions to improve the browser.

It depends on how much they will pay. There are studies showing that it does not have to be that much. The Grundgesetz (German constitution) allows not paying market value in certain cases. https://gentrificationblog.files.word

Distributions tend not to like cross-compiling, because it's not as flexible (how do you run test-programs?) and sometimes has bugs you don't have when native compiling.

How can you catch allocation failure from ::new? Is it possible without exceptions (which have some other problems in kernel space)?

No! Not at all. You have to control uptime of the single nodes holistically. That just does not work with Ceph. I can't imagine that there are storage systems that work with that setup.

Sorry, you are wrong. It's not about compatibility. It really is about other brands being able to say "LEGO blocks" on the box in the shop and people posting youtube videos with LEGO in the title but using other brands.

I have mildly bad experience with gluster. I did never lose data, but the maintenance load was very noticable! Ceph will rebalance by itself when adding (or removing) disks. That alone reduces maintenance by a huge amount. For Storage c

I guess that depends on jurisdiction and I don't know the situation in the US. What I do know is that in the EU you have to enforce your trademark so that it does not get a commodity. That's a fight that Lego is fighting on mult

I'd really like to know why that story got flagged. It does not discuss computers, but it still discuss technology (architecture) to achieve a goal, which is spiritually a fit with hacker news. Of course it is biased, but there are m

The problem is building and packaging (and versioning) all dependencies. It's a reasonable policy to not allow bundling which conflicts with usual Go developing.
