The author gets into that. `Thetype` might be complex. It also protects you from overgeneralizing, like casting to and from `unknown` to escape the type checker. type Current = { kind: "ac" | "dc"; amps

If it's correct, it's not a maintenance nightmare, and it will alert you to problems later when someone wants to use it incorrectly. If you're writing first-party software, it probably doesn't matter. But if you have con

I'll bet you're right in some cases. I don't think that it is as pervasive as it has been made out to be though, but the argument requires some framing and current rules, regulation, and laws aren't tuned to make legal s

Fantastic, thank you. This is already useful. If you do wind up adding image classification, first, I'd like it distinguish photos, screenshots, and graphics. Then, I'd like broad categories, like people, places, animals, memes, e

It is true that democrats are not in the majority. However, it is factually true that 7 more democrats must vote for S.3019 (for a total of 60 votes) for the government to re-open. Ref: https://www.govtrack.us/congress/

Still difficult to tell for me. I enabled `browser.profiles.enabled` and now there's Profiles in the hamburger menu. However, it only shows a default profile. It does not show any other existing profiles.

Yeah toy might be a little negative. I think it's a leisure vehicle, and, at least as I read the marketing, they're leaning into that. Seems like the extended range model is 300km. If you need a car, you probably don't want

What do you mean by crash-worthy? Like it's so cheap it doesn't matter if you wreck it, or that you're likely to survive if you're in a crash?

I don't think it's accurate to attribute some kind of altruism to these research universities. Have a look at some of those pay packages or the literal hedge funds that they operate. And they're mostly exempt from taxation.

libcurl dealt with this a few months ago, and the sentiment is about the same: thread cancellation in glibc is hairy. The short summary (which I think is accurate) is that an hostname query via libnss ultimately had to read a config file, a
