The true telos of a mathematics education is gaining a genuine understanding of the principles of mathematics. Pragmatic concerns of the nature you describe should be treated as secondary concerns in an educational environment.

Could this be solved (in large part) if key makers like YubiKey did I.D. verification on purchase? Then, to do the type of "farming" that's mentioned in this article, you'd need to organize a large group of people to all

I’m not a crypto expert, but I’ve researched this some myself and believe that’s all true. There are “privacy-coins” like Monero which obfuscate this, however afaict KYC laws make it impossible to use legally for commercial purposes.

What about debt is relevant? Sure, if you’re in debt then a sense you “owe less”, in that the units you owe are now worth less. But practically speaking, if you’re an hourly or salaried employee that’s too poor to own significant securities

You need to have more than “no relationship” with him. I have “no relationship” with Epstein, hence I’ve never flown on his plane which is a well known hotbed of teenager-rape. Either Pinker is a liar or the flight logs are fake. I suspect

Are you liable for illicit content being cached on your server? Like say a user on a server you’re federated with posts child porn, can you be criminally liable if it’s unknowingly downloaded onto the instance you host?
