I was just looking in to setting up "VS Code in the browser" with gitpod, code-server, and Visual Studio Codespaces last weekend. Gitpod looked nice but the fact that you can only customize the editor per-repository doesn't m

Couldn't that go both ways though? Why would I want to sign up for "yet another subscription" when they can just go belly up and render my investment worthless (vs an alternative with a one-time payment)?

Ugh, so frustrating to hear this as a remote worker who is only remote because of family. Putting in a lot of effort into applications is not sustainable considering you will not even get a response from a surprising amount of companies, es

I would like Firefox to be my main browser again but a couple of times I've run into the situation where an uncaught JavaScript error logged in Firefox's console doesn't give me any useful information as compared to Chromium.

I've recently used it in HackerRank. It's a good idea but turning off autocomplete didn't work for me and was super annoying.

I would like to use gitpod but it doesn't let you configure the editor to your preferences. Instead, it's project-based which I think is way less useful: https://www.gitpod.io/docs/config-editor/

I agree. I tried Consider a little while ago and I still don't know what it is. If it's still just a client then it's pretty unlikely to be "Email 2.0".

Extracting/composing utility classes into component classes using @apply has worked well for me. I was surprised that the Tailwind UI code examples don't include examples of how you would do that especially for things like buttons

No the solution is not death. Thats is such a lazy conclusion. If you know someone has a really terrible and dangerous opinion, you dont have to attend their tech talk. Just dont support them in any way personally. Its that simple.

Yes, without a doubt. Its not about “disliking them personally”. In that example it’s about not giving legitimacy to someone who doesn’t deserve it. In the grand scheme of things, some technical insight is insignificant compared to the perp

It's been my experience that developers care much more about the user/developer experience than having to learn another tool but then again I've spent more time working in startups than I have working for large companies.
