As far as I know, the authorities have done... nothing? I don't know that I would want them to do anything either, I suspect like stink bugs before them, they will enjoy a season or 2 of rapid population growth followed by a decreased

It’s funny to me that this announcement: - Came on a Friday evening - Was a criminal information filing, meaning it was not an indictment and the target likely wasn’t arrested - Was not precipitated by a major press conference by DOJ/T

You may be referring to Unreal in this instance. Unreal is open source* but you pay to license the engine, so you can make core changes I.e. memory management or tweak underlying net code. Unity is closed source and so you can only really e

Yes you are! You’ve let IP rights holders rot your brain. Are you aware that there are publicly funded buildings in most towns in the US that permit you to rent one or multiple books without a monthly subscription fee? And that the late fee

Claude 2 is probably the closest competitor to GPT-4 at this point. If you haven’t heard of them before it’s because you weren’t paying attention.

Most attacks like this use stolen credentials for VOIP providers, i.e. Twilio. It's likely the FBI quickly obtained a subpoena which produced a recording. The attacker may not have known the call was being recorded.

FWIW engaging simultaneously with both the FBI and the USAO/DOJ and putting pressure on DOJ to act on the case typically results in better outcomes than just assuming the SA assigned is going to follow through and bugging them about it

There are actually even more arcane requirements like placing a job ad in a Sunday newspaper with a certain distribution. The ads have bizarre keywords that make it borderline impossible to determine the real job. Those regulations are cont

Presumably: 1. Satellites can now conduct imagery intelligence at a similar or higher quality without alerting targets, conducting refueling, or risking pilots. 2. There are more satellites with higher maneuverability than before. 3. Unmann

Just don’t upgrade to PHP 8 then? All of those decisions were made for specific reasons. I’ve noticed anyone complaining about PHP 8 for legacy reasons was barely off of PHP 5.

IMO the rankings of publicly available LLMs are: 1. GPT-4 2. Claude 2 3. Bard 4. Llama/Alpaca 5-98. [Unclaimed] 99. SmarterChild AIM bot 100. Cohere All joking aside, I do agree with the sentiment that no one generally has any type of

FWIW Drip was acquired by LeadPages in 2015, who in turn rebranded themselves as Drip. From what I’ve heard the sales was in the $3-$5M range. LeadPages had a much larger engineering team and was able to scale up Drip.

When ransomware attacks began, it was more typical to see the blast radius centered around a single user who did something stupid, like run an exe or enable macros. But that’s not how it’s done on these large enterprise networks. Ransomware
