Your first point (childcare) is probably one of the more understated points. When families have 2 children under 5, the cost of childcare for both children encroaches the income of one parent alone. Many find it more convenient just to stay

For the most part they _are_ done with that kind of conflict. And in situations where they do need to engage an adversary like that, it is far easier to use drones. I love the A-10, but it's effectiveness as CAS for adversaries with ev

Sadly this is outdated. On September 16th, 2021 the ESA announced a delay of the launch until mid-2023 to repair pieces of the spacecraft dislodged during transportation to the launch site [0]. More info on the video including damages. [0]

If you are continually exposed to COVID-19, wouldn’t you effectively be “re-upping” your immune system every time there is additional exposure?

They launched a cloud version a few years ago and have seen most growth there. It’s not the best API (it requires polling; no webhooks. Yuck), but it does include their latest engine at entry level pricing.

You should honestly look to monetize this. The MC server community is constantly plagued with hosts that will cram as many servers onto a box as possible, but they insist on the “always on” approach which IMO is pointless. Someone did an au

FWIW the sharding at worldborder approach is still the preferred way to shard in CivCraft-inspired servers. IIRC the CivCraft 3 sharding happened in the middle of a continent, so you could feasibly be chasing someone and both would be switc

I have yet to see hard data on it, but the folks that have been in the trenches doing client-side mods on Minecraft swear that J9 is the superior JVM for the latest versions of Minecraft (1.16+). I don't know that anyone has really don

What were the specs of the server and which Spigot fork did you run? A month ago I ran a Paper instance from a Digital Ocean instance with about 4 GB of RAM and OpenJ9 JVM and it never dipped below 20 TPS even with a larger render distance.

I'm fairly certain it is permitted in California, but police offers do have the power to write a citation that acts as a summons for the suspect to appear in court. No arrest, likely no jail time, just ~$20 in court costs plus whatever

My understanding is that it has been known for years that mRNA is a viable vaccine delivery vector, but the R&D hadn't been completed for the other aspect of the business - production and safety at scale.

The biggest investment that Pfizer made was the creation of a way to reliably manufacture mRNA vaccines. Now they must recoup those investments.

Your comment is spot on. Prior to Bootstrap, the concept of a purely CSS framework was relatively foreign. Aside from jQuery UI (which of course required jQuery and had limitations on styling) the closest thing we had in the 2009-2011 perio
