I use vpscheap.net for my side projects. They are very good. They have unmetered bandwidth plans that start as low as a couple bucks a month. I use the 10 dollar/month plan, and it's 1gig ram, unmetered on a 50mbit/s link, qu

I have a couple questions about a use case. In general is it a security concern for your app that SQLite doesn't care about user permissions the way client/server DBs do? What is the best you can do? Just make sure the file perms

Postgres still doesn't have upsert either. Neither does sql server or Oracle. I hardly see that as a knock against SQLite. All of the above have various levels of hackey workaround so for this though.

I'd add to this that SQLite is a great choice for learning the basics of an orm like sqlalchemy.

It seems more than a little crazy to suggest this could really be doable. Then again some of the videos of what kinds of precision quad-coptors can achieve with their movements will make you think this could be done.

There is some crazy shit happening in those comments. From hoping for the guy to get murdered to asserting that homosexuality is a disorder. When you've got friends like that on your side . . . .

I'm going to feel like such a dumbass if a) this is not a joke and b) it actually gets members.

Agree. More data does not automatically equal more or better insights. It's a well-known problem in the Market Research world that frequently, more data clouds issues and makes focusing on core problems and insights MORE difficult. The

I don't think the word "safely" means the same thing to you as it does to me. I think that's a pretty clear-cut case of fraud. And that does not seem like a safe thing to do. But to each his own, I suppose.

I upvoted because I thought it was a discussion of how to obtain porn via APIs. It's not. It's about how to block it. So I take my upvote back.

So the key to getting things done is to go get things done? That's deep, man. Epically deep.

I think the article misses the most obvious point: Apple wants to make phones thinner than having a headphone jack allows.

I love what Netflix is doing with this. Not so much because I am totally convinced that they are 100% right and the Cable companies are 100% wrong. Mostly just because I 100% hate all the cable companies.

Meh, use the right tool for the right job. Sometimes that tool is a spreadsheet. My biggest complaint about Excel is that it fails gracefully when I would prefer that it pitch a fit.

Because it's Chicken Parmesan without all those unhealthy carbs from the pasta. I would add bacon though. And black olives. Maybe artichoke hearts. But probably just bacon.

What I see more often than not is that bad managers come from lazy planning. Bob has been here for a long time now. We should reward him. Hmmmm. What to do . . . oh! Let's make him a manager. That way we have an excuse for a small rais
