Interesting idea, though I am somewhat skeptical on the business model. Users building something that complex over spreadsheets are probably the "shadow IT" types, so how does one get their company to pay for this without gettin

I do everything you just listed. But that was by choice, and I know people who won't want to e.g. ever give up eating meat. We have to accommodate these lifestyles (and build tech to make it more sustainable) - people generally don

What counts for readability is not set in stone by some language czar as the One True Way. Everyone knows the style guides can't be perfect which is why they're relatively mutable. In any case, readability will comment on stuff th

Readability is not about formatting, that's an orthogonal issue. It's possible to have terrible code that's perfectly formatted. It's more about good usage of idiomatic language constructs, which still requires good huma

But at least in the FAANG example, time to market is much slower because of said complexity.

Mobile phones aren't just another time waster, they have actively replaced things like television and SMS. There is immense social pressure to be on these platforms, so I'd rather it was done in a safe way than forcing everyone on

This has nothing to do with remote. Remote teams are usually concentrated in the same timezone too. In-office global companies make a point of having at least a few teams owning a service for this very reason.

Motion sickness and tracking are solved problems. The biggest barrier is content (value prop right now is still not huge) and hardware comfort.

Okay, you first. I'd much rather find a way to maintain people's lifestyles, reduce emissions (and make it even better in the process).

This is the crux of the debate in my opinion - it's old money (finance, journalism, entertainment) vs new money (tech) that threatens to eat all their businesses alive. This is nothing more than a power struggle between the ownership c

Also, I think we need to stop rewarding 'minimal' products. Like you said, there's no room for minimal time tracking, but there's definitely room for more high quality, feature-dense time tracking tools.
