Yes, an app is required to trigger the surveillance since beacons are one-way, but not really a 'malicious' app install. If tomorrow candy crush/angry birds want to tap into the gimbal database, well congratulations. Worst, i

Beacons are being used as a micro-surveillance tool [1,2]. And that is the only prominent use they have found, among all the ones listed. Interestingly Gimbal, is a Qualcomm company or rather was a Qualcomm company as it was spun off [3]. G

It is appalling how brazenly Keith Rabois, Dan Primack and interestingly Henry Blodget (charged with a civil securities fraud by SEC [1, 2]) acted publicly and pinned moral blame on Guardian. Reeks like repeat of Gary Webb episode. What is

But, Google did mine Wi-Fi data of a lot of people, so why do only those 22 people are to be proven as victim. Can't the case be broadened?

It is not because of the Visa. Sponsoring a J1/F1 visa is easy for companies/Universities. Are you in second or third year? Now is not the time for app'ing. October end is when you should typically start. Don't worry abo
