I enjoy using the track point because being able to do simple mouse actions without leaving the home row is wonderful. If I need to use the mouse a lot/precisely I use a touch pad or an external mouse though. I do sorta fit the "w

A while ago (2011ish maybe?) I had a hand-me-down laptop whose processor speed was measured in MHz (it even had a floppy drive!). The previous owners had windows XP on it but that didn't really run well. I tried various Linux distros&#

The four employees Alphabet fired near the end of 2019 were Laurence Berland (SRE, 11 years at Google), Paul Duke (SWE, 8 years at Google), Rebecca Rivers (SWE, 4 years at Google), and Sophie Waldman (SWE, just under 2 years at Google). Not

The idea that these people accessed highly confidential information is laughable. They looked at people's calendars and read docs that were set to be visible to everyone internally. They found that Alphabet was working with firms that

At least it's all in one place. Watching MLS has a huge pain because games are seemingly randomly split between Fox and ESPN and it's a crapshoot which streaming service we need to use each week to watch our team play I would happ

I don't trust twitter and every time they ask for my phone number I just kill the app and restart it to hide the unclosable pop up asking for my phone number. SMS is a terrible 2FA anyways

(not a lawyer) my interpretation of GPLv2 is that at the very least the model would be licensed under GPL if it was trained on GPL code. The model is a derivative work. Whether the generated code coming out of the model is GPL is trickier.

I wonder how much of this format the arcade games share. they recently axed the official servers for the arcade machines so they've been making their way to the secondary market more. Porting over songs from 3DS to arcade or visa versa

it's really neat, I love how easy it is to search for functions by type to find what you need. The one thing I ran into (as someone who only vaguely knows haskell) is that it seems like it's impossible to write a function that tak

My understanding is that a while (or a valof) that doesn't assign to result is invalid. If the condition is false before entering the loop then result would be 1 (its initial value) if it helps and if I understand correctly, this would

Is there any protocol information for someone making a project with lights they want to be able to control with this tool? I was looking around a bit but could only find resources on getting it working with specific premade things.

Seeing upscaling and interpolating with ML referred to as "remastering" is deeply frustrating to me. Especially when people talk about it as if it's aiding archival when it's such a lossy process.
