You mean with image requests or something, right? Actual fetch() and XHR won't even tell JavaScript that a server exists unless it passes the CORS preflight check.

This is exactly what OnLive/Parsec/Playstation Now do. Keep the video card in the cloud, stream to a screen. Works pretty good if you have a fiber connection, pretty hit and miss otherwise.

So minimize your use of the Electron APIs. And then when someone releases a leaner Javascript runtime, port to that, keeping 90% of your application intact. This would be a good idea even if Electron didn't have these problems.
