I hope to get there some day. I'm learning to code currently (until now, I was only capable of scripting, which is code, but you know what I mean) and I feel like there's just massive knowledge out there just to make simple things

I just have more life than work. I want to transition to developer (solo learning now), and having someone in my job over sighting my junior BS would be helpful, but honestly I just have a much more nice life now. I work surrounded by natur

Most people in Europe lives in rented flats. A charger installation is rather expensive for most of us outside of a few selected countries. People in Switzerland, Norway, or maybe some part of Germany may have no problem. For me it's a

Nissan Leafs are ~20k for Km0 offers in Spain. They are very limited cars in range, functionality is behind than a 10K Km0 Fiat Panda. Street chargers are scarce, and usually expensive, and I have a hard time picturing a charger in every pa

An expensive phone is about 500-1000€. A cheap EV is in the 20K neighborhood, and the functionality is pretty bad compared to a cheap second-hand utility car (pretty hard to travel outside your city). Even when regulations push prices up, i

ML looks (for many peole) like a way to circunvent your grumpy statiscian saying that the underlying data is worthless and/or you should focus on getting the data pipeline done properly for a logit model on your churn rate.

As a Spaniard I agree with your observations. In Spanish most variations of pronunciation come from local variants, so even there there is consistency. In english is quite hard to grasp how to say new words. That's not a problem in Spa

When I looked to FileZilla alternatives some time ago, I was surprised that there wasn't actually many alternatives. WinSCP is my default now too.

Who's Youtube to decide this? Man this is getting ridiculous. Some pampered people there in SV need some drilling in their heads, to remind them they aren't judges on anything.

I've been reviewing CMSs for some time, and PicoCMS is the best in terms of simplicity, hands-off and easiness.

You don't even need SQLite for that. Something like PicoCMS with markdown files is more than enough. If you want a fronted for the owner, that's another story, but if you're the one mantaining the sites, WordPress is an overk

I've settled with PicoCMS. Just edit markdown files, your template, and you're good to go. I didn't find anything as nimble and easy to use. Plus it uses PHP, that when you don't want to spend money is a huge plus.

You can perform sql queries with many of the DB clients available, such as Heidi, or Deaver, and also through python. Sqlite is OLTP though, for analytical purposes I'd use an OLAP DB like DuckDB. IMO dumping workload in DB is nice, sp

Your site says it's distributed, but honestly it has no details of how it works. Is it built on top fo SIA, STORJ or similar? How does it work? How does one "become a node", etc.

That's pretty difficult, unless fixing batteries for dirt cheap (and with enough range to inter-city travel at least) becomes doable. I can't see someone making any useful of a VW ID3 in, say, Morocco.
