I'd love to see something along the lines of Spotify's model for the web. Let me pay a set amount per month, then distribute it among all the websites that I visit, weighted by number of visits (or some other more suitable metric)

It's natural evolution of Twitter's position. The value of Twitter stems from its stream. The 140 character limit is entirely arbitrary. Increasing it too much may have detrimental effects, but increasing it gradually shouldn'

Not really, no. I actually have a decent understanding of what's involved regarding Ethereum, but assume for a moment that I don't. Statements like "a formal agreement between two or more parties" are of little use to so

No, but neither does Samsung. Apple does have to pay for R&D for its own operating systems though.

Whether you're writing 5 or 6, it's still worth looking at and getting familiar with the various Javascript build tools (Grunt, Gulp etc). They're an increasingly important part of a Javascript developer's toolset, and u

In the case of gay Marriage, there were very few consequences for anyone, beyond gay men and women being able to get married. In contrast, the outcome of this referendum will have significant effects on the lives of ordinary Greeks for many

In many cases that division doesn't exist. Part of the beauty of React, as far as I'm concerned, is that it allows us to think about things on the page in terms of components, rather than as separate blocks of html, and javascript

On the plus side, the rapid adoption of new versions of iOS means that should Apple improve Safari, the new version will quickly supersede the old, rather than having it linger around for years, as IE6 did.

I don't disagree with the assertion that iOS needs greater browser choice, but, even were that to happen, Safari falling behind other browsers in standards support would still be an issue. IE6 remained a thorn in the side of the web de

Not just scoping. The hoisting rules have changed. There's some discussion earlier in the comments regarding `typeof` no longer being safe to use with `let` and `const` declarations. `typeof` with a `var` before its declaration is fine

But look at the rate of increase. It's only in the recent past that it broke the 50% barrier. The trend is upwards - 60% is not the end point.

I don't see this as a zero sum game. Apple have received a huge amount of publicity from this, and are now being viewed as a company on the side of the artists, and, unusually for Apple, as a company which actively listens.

I've never worked in anything other than open plan offices. Some are definitely better than others. The worst are offices without breakaway spaces, which cause impromptu meetings to happen at desks, which can be immensely distracting.
