Anyone running these systems probably have hardware in place and don’t plan on changing said hardware. The reason these systems/OS are in place is because of, “If it’s not broken, don’t fix it”. Probably not jumping to update drivers.

It’s a good future-proofing investment by AWS. IPv4 is not going away anytime soon. We’ll be dependent on IPv4 for a long time. IPv4 scarcity only hits in certain segments. It doesn’t hit the major players. The real problem is the hoarding

There needs to be a whistleblower from a Googler about what’s going on. I strongly suspect that a few Googlers have too much time on their hands. This speaks volumes to Google’s eventual downfall that they can’t keep their employees busy do

I remembered Splunk being a simple log parser. I didn’t remember it as a dashboard like this. It’s been many years since I looked at it though. Time to give it another look.

Anyone know of a real SOC or SIEM that looks like this? Something that can be installed on-prem? Thanks.

You’re assuming that your city hall is even remotely competent. Most city halls are no better than the Parks and Recreations TV show. Don’t believe me? Go to your next city hall meeting.

The sad reality is that this would have normally been obtained by the local news and these two people would been blasted as criminals. If it were Ring, Amazon would have already used it in a commercial. The other sad reality is that everyon

Great comment and great point that is often missed by most but shouldn’t be. Google will drive legit apps off the store but allow malware to linger for months or years. If there was ever a public failure by a company then this is it. Where

Absolutely wonderful news! Congrats to everyone involved. Kudos to Apple for following through. I hope this sets the standard for companies going forward.

Apple only paid them $52k? Apple is a trillion dollar company. These hackers saved them easily millions of dollars in expenses. China or North Korea could easily allocate a much larger team to something like this and disrupt Apple (not for

I don’t trust Mozilla these days. Normandy. When that certificate expired it also disabled NoScript in the Tor browser which disabled some security. Might not be a coincidence. There are also a couple of other things Mozilla has done that s

As you read through all of these comments you hope that there is some pattern of why all of this happens. Then, unfortunately, you come to the conclusion that there are hundreds of reasons why this happens. People on the other end of the co

Serious question. Not trolling. Would it have been possible to exchange that much BTC for US dollars? Ignoring taxes for a few seconds. Would it have actually been possible to get real fiat money for the 1,400 BTC? I’ve always heard of comp

I think many would be surprised at the trivial and childish changes that Google does to hurt web sites. Many don’t speak out for fear of further being punished by Google.
