I've seen it cite sources, and then say the opposite of what the citations say If you're going to use this feature, always check the citations.

I for one cancelled my Kagi subscription over this nonsense. I like paying for my search, but the AI "quick answer" integration is dangerously prone to incorrectly cited hallucinations, and I don't want to encourage this kind

For sites that use a resident webauthn token like GitHub, you can list the known sites on the key. The UX for all this is not where it should be, however.

I had to dig into this, because I also felt Python is green. The Python logo has been blue/yellow in the modern era and monochromatic prior, but the Python IDLE icon DID used to be green[1]. Which in practice probably cemented into my

It's up to the implementation to determine what running a tool actually means: "tool-use" means you can tell the LLM "you have these functions which take these options", and then it can output a magic stanza asking

Pedantically: MEGA runs today as a Dropbox-alike, and has very little to do with Kim Dotcom beyond his being involved at the very beginning and then departing quickly. You're referring to Megaupload, which is entirely different despite

It sounds like what you want is Coreboot? Which it seems like AMD is interested in from the slides in [1] [1]: https://community.amd.com/t5/business/empowering-the-industr...

Obviously astrology does no better than random guessing, that's no surprise. But the fact that astrology had such low levels of agreement is a little interesting to me -- I guess I assumed there was some kind of underlying system to

If that's all it took for Dark Sky on the backend to do what it did, then there's even less excuse for the lack of a good replacement in 2024.

Dark Sky was genuinely the most irreplaceable app I've ever used. I don't think I'll ever forgive Apple's butchering it for spare parts.

At least on the US platinum card, the various complimentary credits mostly cover the annual fee. If you're already paying for streaming services, the occasional Uber, etc. then the annual fee disappears.

Very different technologies. The PyPy JIT is a tracing JIT where hot paths of execution are identified, then that specific path is compiled and optimized. Same as LuaJIT. The CPython JIT is a newer and less invasive technique called copy-an

Yeah, that's totally fair. I just think about all the people to whom I've had to explain LLM hallucinations, and the surprise in their faces, and this feature gives me some heebie-jeebies

Be VERY careful using Kagi this way -- I ended up turning off Kagi's AI features after it gave me some comically false information based on it misunderstanding the search results it based its answer on. It was almost funny -- I looke

Badging the Luddites as regressive dummies was never historically accurate, but has been a highly effective anti-labor framing. I've been glad to see more and more people rediscover lately their actual grievances.

I understand this to be the case, but in practice the distinction is mostly immaterial. Topics are notable for a decade, then not notable the next.

I think this is half true. The innovation is there: GM's old Voltec hybrid drivetrain and the new Ultium EV platform are really quite good. The issue is in getting the technology into the marketplace: between advertising, product posit

It's funny to think about in retrospect how exciting Firefox 3 was. Planning began in 2006, and release was 2008. Acid2! Cairo! Better Linux theming! It was just such a different release cadence.

This comment feels like a mantra more to reassure yourself than to convince anybody. I don't want to be discourteous, but I don't see what kind of productive discussion that can happen as a result of it at this point in 2024?
