To mods: I flagged this to bring attention to the clickbait title: this is NOT referring to iOS. The post title here is the same as the article title but I would still recommend changing it, even if just to " macOS App Store".

Thanks for chasing it up! Would I be right in guessing that we're looking at a well-built security system responding to high page load? Saying the page doesn't exist in these types of situations is interesting. Users consider 404s

Welp. I didn't see your comment until now. I wonder if you'll see/get this reply. What do you mean by "design Smalltalk computers"? That sounds really interesting. Do you mean you configure them to autoboot Linux in

I'm all for keeping HN high quality - I hope it never loses its focus on technical discussion, regardless of how much userbase influx there may be from other online communities. But this kind of thing perfectly matches the calibre of H

I just tried the two-year old 3.4-dev copy of NetSurf I had buried on this computer, and was able to login to Gmail's Basic HTML.

I've wanted to play around with some similar ideas for a while too, actually. I have a few loose high-level ideas - I know I want it to feel like an app, but I want to use plain JS; I want to leverage everything modern browsers can sup

Very interesting. I would suggest swapping the current structural aesthetic of "come in and look around" for the somewhat more widespread approach of having one or more calls to action and making the homepage fully sketch out the

Except processes can't use >4GB virtual memory. But wait. This could actually work out really well for Chrome, since it's multiprocess, and each process will likely consume <4GB. That is really cool. I've been wondering

No, I've vaguely heard of it though. To clarify, the centerpoint of what I was describing above was that VR would provide the ability to repeatedly watch a car approach from a distance and learn what speed it was going at at the same t
