You mentioned database constraints and testing already, which are great automated methods. Besides these automated methods another way to monitor data integrity is for a human to manually analyze the data for inconsistencies. And to ask oth

Facebook is in a difficult spot right now. They’re in a damned if you do damned if you don’t situation. Granted, Zuckerberg and his team in many ways got themselves into this situation, but at this point it’s hard to see how Facebook moves

Checking what JavaScript projects on github received the most new stars in the last 24 hours every day doesn’t sound like fun to me. In fact I’ve never thought of GitHub as “fun”.

All the time and money that will go into this would be much better spent donating to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund or another organization fighting to solve the real problems.

I went straight to the code and didn’t read past the github link - but read through it now. That process described isn’t in the code.. One other thing I noticed is that this uses aiopg for the async db queries instead of asyncpg, which is m

It’s certainly not used for any mission critical apps. Facebook’s stack is pretty well known. They’ve been using sharded MySQL for a while now. Instagram started on PostgreSQL but I believe has switched to Cassandra.
