Great work. I think it would be great when you guys start cover the region, like Indonesia. I hardly can find any Indonesian startups so far. Unfortunately, i don't live in the country.

I am in Sydney. Feel free to drop me a line. Our startups actually work in some of the area that you described (haven't launched yet). But, i agree with other comments, research around ...most of the time, it won't be unique. But, you'll le

So far, i only read about 35% of the content. I think what makes it unique is the language that it used is quite casual and it gives a lot of example per cases. It emphasized a lot about validating your assumptions. All in all, i highly rec

That's what makes technology industry interesting. Things are quite unpredictable and like it or not, none of us knows exactly how things will pan out. Google's strength is obviously in brand penetration when it comes to search engine. Afte

Sure. I can understand that. I am no expert in legal system, but, is it illegal to send out something that is legally correct AND/OR maybe accompany by another letter that practically is more human-readable? After all, what's the point of t

Totally agree with you here. I wonder if any of the management team read Steve Blank's "Four Steps to the Epiphany" book. Cuil sounds like the exact example being outlined there.

They definitely deserve some merits. IMHO, though, i think the normal search engine becomes more like a marketing game now. Same as "most people prefer something other than Coca-Cola in blind test", yet they are still the biggest seller by

Reading this email or the one by Autodesk's founder ( http://www.fourmilab.ch/autofile/www/chapter2_22.html ) sometimes leave me with questions on why most people can't take this more "like-a-person" approach in communication. Most letters

I second this. It makes the team much harder in coming up with innovative solution. Instead of taking 3 days, it might takes 2 weeks.

The thing that i don't like about outsourcing is that it loses that brainstorming-creativity of the team. From experience, outsourcing is good for work that don't require innovation (populating content etc). If you're startup though, you're

Just a side note. Few companies that are mentioned in Jim Collin's "Built To Last" are examples of companies that are going great even after the founders left. 3M, P&G, Disney, Walmart...

Ah, the classic debate of part time vs full time again. Sigh.. I think it's depend on people to people. I personally know that i'm not the "part-time-and-do-it-safely" kind of person. I get too comfortable. I function much better as soon as

Thanks. Yes, we're looking into making no 1 and 2 happen asap. We've look at few JS libraries, but, they're not as good looking as Flash one. What is the major drawback of Flash you think? Isn't most people's machine got Flash installed the

Not sure i understand your question correctly. For our case, i just started it with a long-time friend of mine. I did talk some part of it in our blog. Maybe you can find it relevant in addressing your question. http://blog.blindoptimists.

I second this opinion. Start attending meetups. That will widen your network and you surely have more awareness on what other events to follow. Eventually, you'll end up in a group of hackers and startup founders.
