Experimenting is a great idea, that's how we learn, but using your experiments in a production environment is a completely different matter, and usually a bad idea.

Sure, it's possible to do a lot of things with a computer as a generalist, but as soon as you really need to start digging in and getting to details, you need the specialists. Those that know all of the nooks and crannies of the technology

I wouldn't call people who don't publish to specific circles "users who don't understand circles." I publish almost everything publicly because I honestly don't care who reads most of it. I only publish to specific circles when I actually c

G+ is becoming sort of the tech section of my social universe. Only my technology friends are really using it, but there are usually a couple of posts a week. Which is actually fine for me, because my tech friends don't really post tech stu

Is it just me, or do a lot of the reasons listed seem to be focused on founders that are still in some form of school? I doubt that a frequent reason that non-college going founders fail is because "one of the founders chooses to do a term

Mr. Ferrara explained, “When an investor or insider is engaged in an omission which proves to be a deception, and the result of that was a financial loss to another investor, a case for fraud can be made.” That applies to any investor or

Crohn's is a bit odd genetically. While having a parent with Crohn's increases your chances by 2-3x's, having a sibling with Crohn's increases your chances 20-30x's. So, it's not surprising that your wife and her sister as well as your dad

Poverty is a complex issue that requires more than just knee jerk solutions and tossing money at it. I don't know the answer, and I'm not positive that there is an "answer". But I can tell you that people like me have a tendency to tune o

Unfortunately, unions have a tendency to limit the number of skilled workers that a company can hire due to higher wages required for existing employees.

It's sad that you associate "passion" with "hipster". I can't think of a more inaccurate characterization of a highly motivated developer. I also didn't get the impression that he was looking for a "hipster".

A little perspective is in order here: Go appeared in 2009 Scala appeared in 2003 For more perspective, Ruby appeared in 1995 and Python in 1991, and yet those just became really popular in the past 5-10 years. It takes a while for language

After all, if you stopped marketing tomorrow you’d have a nice, profitable $10 million a year business. This is incredibly naive. To pretend that marketing isn't a core part of Groupon's model is like pretending that Ford doesn't need car

I'm all for finding ways to avoid locking and using immutable objects is one way to help, but this: Remove the mutation part and now you have a version history, allowing conflict resolution. is a little too "hand-wavy" for my taste

Nothing in life is without risk, and using HIV is no exception. However, in comparison to the risk of dying from leukemia, I think it is fair trade-off. More details: http://www.vcu.edu/oehs/chemical/biosafe/lentiviralvectors.p...
