I appreciate what you've done here, but when I hear the words "enterprise wiki" (as your URL implies) and you can't paste MS Word formatted text into it, I feel a disconnect. I'm not saying that is how it should work, or is a feature that I

Actually, since they have more money and are more established, I would argue that they do have the luxury of throwing shit on the wall and seeing what sticks. The reason we have companies in this country that are over 100 years old is bec

I really like using Linode. More than the size, space, and cost (which I do value), I appreciate their straightforward and detailed documentation library for administering. That, mixed with their tools, makes using Linode quite enjoyable.

These are terrible answers to the question "Why Lisp?" (to which the most obvious answer would be "For what?"). 1) Good ideas? Yes, it did, but many modern languages implement them so it is no longer a reason to use Lisp. Macros? There are

Languages seem to find a "killer app" much like most technologies and then tend to be used primarily for that purpose. Could Go do all of those things? Sure, with enough time, resources, and libraries, it could. But Google has a problem now

No, I meant Unity. I did try the GNOME 3 desktop on Fedora as well, and liked it less than Unity. I was a GNOME desktop user until I switched to Xubuntu.

After many attempts to use the Unity desktop, I decided that I just didn't like it (some do, and I'm fine with that as well). What it has done is to make me aware of the fine work that the Xubuntu team has done. http://xubuntu.org/

What do you mean by "Erlang allows us to take the good parts and move them to a 'friendlier' language when the time comes"? Is there something I don't know about porting code from Erlang to other languages? (Not being snarky, genuinely curi

Doing something like this before tackling the Dragon book [1] is a great idea. Formal theory will make a lot more sense once you've run into some of the practical problems yourself. [1] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compilers:_Principles,
