Well the Samsung Galaxy S4 will bend. And so will other phones. Large and flat will bend, break or crack. It's just the nature of things.

It's amazing that people think nothing can happen to a phone. Years ago I sold phones. People wanted money back because they drowned a Nokia in the toilet. Or complained the device stopped working after they dropped it from a great hig

Well I think overhang is still an issue for single extruder FDM printers (like the Dremel one). The slicer can generate supports but in my experience this will cause some of these issues: * Print times will double or triple. * Sometim

I own a 3D printer. It's an Ultimaker (they are coming to the US [1]) and I'm using it for prototyping. Some things that you almost never read about consumer 3D printers: * 3D printing is hard. * You cannot print 'every

I wonder if this statement is true. The reports I read about Android vs iOS revenue are US market only, or about e-commerce payments. I'm an app developer and we make a lot of money developing apps that never end up in the app stores.

A nice article about the colors used by Van Gogh: http://asada0.tumblr.com/post/11517603099/the-day-i-saw-van-... "In our opinion, van Gogh surely had color vision deficiency."

I think vector (SVG) is superior when it comes to logos and icons. When a vector is rendered it is done in the context of the system used. For example sub-pixel rendering uses the information of the display. In my experience a SVG logo rend

What UE4 can do is very impressive. But when it comes to real time photo realism I think path tracing is even more impressive. For example this Brigade 3.0 demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpT6MkCeP7Y

Ofcourse the images look very nice but I'm not very impressed. A lot of artists create photo realistic images. For example the Ikea catalogue[1] has a lot of CG images. These are just pre-rendered textures and light maps combined with

Worthless article. It doesn't say a thing about working conditions. When a data scientist has to work 80 hours a week, 52 weeks a year he will earn ~50 an hour. Don't focus on money.

Because not so long ago the Chinese hardware sucked big time. I'm talking about 5 years back or so. They made huge improvements (Huawei, Meizu, Xiaomi, others) and are going to outsell brands like Apple and Samsung.
