False dilemma, most of the first world actually has a great standard of living without ubiquitous gas guzzlers, AC, tumble-dryers and whatnot. Some even argue that energy efficiency can be improved by a factor of five: http://ernst.weizsa

I'd be happy if Canonical actually managed to ship a browser with great font rendering out of the box. Oh, and a 64-bit build would be the icing on the cake.

Smart move. On the wordpress side of things, integration of multi-language plugins with translation services has become standard: WPML ties into icanlocalize and qTranslate uses web-translations.com. Sending translation jobs directly from

I'm still wondering what the docking looks like. Somehow people need to get from the connector cabin to the train and back. This could also result in a lot of people moving back and forth within the train over 20 stops if you can only get i

I wonder why the cost of manned space flight has increased to the point where a lunar mission is no longer feasible. Could someone enlighten me? Overpriced equipment, personnel cost, additional safety costs?

I have to agree with the author about the lack of backports and the time it takes for some bugs to be fixed. Examples: - Backports: No Thunderbird 3.0 on Karmic 64-Bit ("we'll get it in the next release"). Good luck with the daily builds.
