There are some areas (e.g. weather), where Google's own content is a lot more useful (because of its simplicity) to me than third-party sites. On others (e.g. shopping in DE) not so much.

But the prices are in euro. I'm writing this just to illustrate my point: why "but"? You make it seem like your statement is contradicting mine, yet I fail to see the connection.

I think your comment is especially true when you think less of websites that make money and are actively maintained and more about the wealth of information that's out there on old websites that haven't been touched for years -- b

From a European perspective, I like how you say that the house is still standing 10 years later (and someone in another comment above mentioned 25 years) like it's something outstanding. I would expect a house to last 100 years. A fami

I love you you put dance/eletronic, elevator music and toddler songs in one bucket. I never thought of it that way and I think you're spot on. I guess we could add most of the music played on commercial radio stations (from top 40

That's not entirely correct, at least for Germany. ALG1 comes out of the mandatory unemployment insurance (that you and your employer have paid for every month) and they will pay you 60% of your previous take-home salary + health insur

And, if you're in Europe, you can thank the EU, who limited portable audio players to 150 mV max output at the phone jack and 100 dB (A) peak level with the included headphones. This renders my iPhone almost useless as an iPod replacem

Everybody I talked to in Germany was complaining about the new regulations -- it's a PITA for every single online retailer and shop system vendor. New rules will be in effect on Jan 1st and even accountants are still fuzzy on the detai

I agree that iOS and apps could do more to help users stay within the limits of their data plan. Sometimes it seems like they assume data is free. I once had Spotify eat my entire data for the month in a few hours because wifi was spotty an

I'd argue that entertainment media do provide value to consumers and that there is an observable willingness to pay for these kinds of goods. On the cost side, even if your marginal costs are zero, you still have to recover your first
