They probably should have followed the PHP release pattern, which introduces breaking changes to the language in a more gradual way, over a couple of releases, instead of doing it in one big go. On the other hand, the assumptions people h

Maybe i should just rephrase it to 'timeline' or 'newsfeed'. I don't think you can credit one single company for 'inventing' the idea of a timeline. Before Twitter there were RSS readers, before that blogs

I like to propose a variation of Zawinski's law (1) that i think is appropriate here: Every app attempts to expand until it has a Facebook-like timeline. Apps which cannot so expand are replaced by ones which can. 1: https://

If you think the general UI of Twitter is awful, try using it as a media organisation. There's no easy way to share a single account with sharing a password as well, leading to people hijacking the account. Uploading videos is painfull

Yes, this is very annoying indeed. Especially if people post comics or images with lots of detail: there's no way to get the full picture. The only way i know is right clicking and selecting 'open image in new tab', which is

If you want, you can use Vue.js just like jQuery. Pop it in a <script> tag and you're done. No tool chain needed. I do that all the time for small-medium sized projects and it works absolutely fine.
