I rolled my eyes at the title after watching "Linux Sucks 2014" last night. I was pleasantly surprised to see an example comparison of init files.

Thanks for the kind words! It'd be great if you could tell me what improvements you think would be best, I'm trying to make howm's code as nice as I can. I know that having everything in one file is frowned upon, but I quite

That is an idea I was considering, I just wasn't sure if people would find it to get in the way of normal program usage. It would require more data to be sent backwards and forwards to the X11 server, but that shouldn't be too muc

I have some more ideas for operations to add, this is the first release I have done and so it is lacking some features. I agree that some people might not find certain commands to be in the correct mode. You can change that from the configu

It's loosely inspired by dwm in that it uses a similar configuration file and keybinding system. On a technical level, howm uses xcb- a more modern and efficient X protocol binding. dwm uses xlib. From a user's perspective, howm h

Thank you, this is my first proper C project so I have learnt a lot and have come a long way. I have really enjoyed working on it and would certainly describe it as a labour of love.

I understand that it isn't a nice idea having code and configuration mixed together and that splitting them would be preferable. However, howm takes less than 1 second to compile on my laptop, once you have a configuration that you lik

What a huge valuation! I get that Snapchat has a huge amount of users, but can that really be turned into cash? Snapchat doesn't know much about users (personal interests, personal details etc) so I can't see advertisers being too

I am impressed by how fast Neovim is coming along. I wonder how much faster it would progress if there were more donations? Perhaps those that use it everyday in their jobs or for personal use could donate the cost of the text editor that (

This is how I envisage what I would call "public facing" (websites etc) open source projects making money. Do you think this idea of trying to provide the best form of service translates to applications, through regular updates an

I'm working on an X11 tiling window manager that behaves quite similarly to vim. It is my first C project, so I am learning a lot as I go. I feel it has unique features that were missing from other WMs, such as vim's use of operat

The design of it certainly helps- I imagine that the switch will get warm on its own. Attaching boards to that must surely make a lot of heat.

I can see one fan at the top of the cylinder- is only one fan really sufficient? It looks like this would generate a large amount of heat. I would be quite interested to see the temperatures this gets up to.
