The original title says “people with a broad range of disabilities” so I agree with you, but only for that reason. I can’t stand the way that HN changes titles. Otherwise, I’m not going to tiptoe around people and change my speech patterns

No, they are moot. I've built several 100k+ LOC apps with JavaScript. You have no clue what you're talking about.

Nothing is stopping you from generating JavaScript code to do what you want. You don't need reflection to do that. I'd hate to see Python become as popular as JavaScript and to have it be used as the defacto standard in browsers b

My Macs have all crashed more than my beautiful and stable self-built Windows boxes and just about every time I get in front of one of my Macs, I have to restart it for updates. I’m pretty meh about telemetry. At the basic level where I hav

That's why I use Windows. It's got better file and window management than Mac, more software, more hardware and more hooks to let me do what I want. Not only that - it's way, way easier to setup my dev tools for things like

Well, I would say to push on GitHub and mirror to GitLab, but GitLab only allows that with their enterprise edition - https://docs.gitlab.com/ee/workflow/repository_mirroring.htm... So to use both you’d have to pu

Yeah but the rest of the Mac will drive me crazy so it’s a good trade off IMO. If I had to use a Mac all day I would miss all of the simplicity of using Windows for things like browsing files, managing application windows, having buttons wi

And yet, Amazon has given the world way more value than Apple could ever hope to in its lifetime. If Apple shut down tomorrow, nothing would really change. If Amazon shut down tomorrow, they’d bring down everybody.

Yes different threads, same process. If you wanted to use React to render a view for a Golang controller, you’d have to embed a JavaScript engine in your Go process or vice-versa. That’s why I like the idea of a multi process desktop UI kit

React is great, but I really like the idea of multi-process desktop apps, where the rendering happens in one process and one or more controlling processes pipe events to and from it. That way you could use any language to build your control
