Why are we still talking about this? Computers are INCREDIBLY efficient and still become orders of magnitude more efficient. Computation is really negligible in the grand scheme of things. In the 80s some people also said that our whole wor

And then at some point the codebase becomes so unusable that new features take too long and out of frustration management decides to hire 500 extra programmers to fix the situation, which makes the situation even more slow. As I understand,

Reminds me of: Priest: “You have been found guilty by the elders of the town of uttering the name of our lord as so as a BLASPHEMER you are to be stoned to death.” […] Priest: “BLASPHEMY! He said it again!” Old man: “I don’t think it ought

This was the most interesting part IMO. There is definitively some truth to it: “In ways large and small, we live in a world shaped by telemarketing. When’s the last time you answered a call from an unknown number? How many tweets do you en

Why should we care about the environmental impact of EUV machines? I think it's probably better to focus on things which have a real environmental impact. For example, EUV machines are estimated to 54 000 GWh per year by 2030 [1]. This

I think it’s a balance. You do need to be an asshole sometimes to get things done. But you don’t need to be an asshole all the time. It’s an easy excuse to say you need to be a prick because otherwise you cannot do your great achievements.
