If a mirrorless digital camera company ever made their software anywhere near as good as this, or if Apple ever brought their software expertise to a device with a full-frame format sensor and lens mount, they would absolutely dominate that

You may be thinking of OSIRIS-REx, the similar NASA mission which collected its samples a few weeks ago. That's still on its way home.

As someone who has never seen Sneakers, I would have loved a clip of the button press that spawned this journey. What did it sound like?

What do you suggest here? Git surgery to rebase through all 1700 commits looking for large files, or blowing away the repo and starting from scratch? Neither seems particularly appealing for the benefit of saving a few hundred megabytes of

Even after being edited, it's still wrong. It shows the significantly lower Inception4 performance as a "40% speedup" instead of 40% of baseline images/sec.

The advantage of this approach is that it achieves an approximate result in a single sample. You might require dozens of samples to get a similar result using a multisampling technique like you describe.

I remember paying $10 to buy a mini-app that added what should have been native functionality to my Sony camera. Then a few months later a firmware update made it incompatible.

I find the location history feature in Google Maps immensely valuable. Is there any way to run a similar self-hosted feature? I'd love to import my existing timeline if possible.

Here I thought you'd be doing photogrammetry or something to produce 3d maps directly from 2d imagery. Maybe title should be "making 3d maps with satellite imagery and 3d maps" ;)

I think it reflects how the evolution of the JS ecosystem strongly resembles natural evolution. This package is now a vestigial organ, but there was a time when it served a useful purpose. Other packages formed connective tissue to this pac

This is 45 image segments encoded into a single 8k signal. I have a smaller one, and it's amazing, but its 4k image input results in approximately 800x600 equivalent for each rendered angle.
