Key bindings is the least of your problems. If you want to play Nethack well (ie with any chance whatsoever of ascending), you'll need to read hundreds of pages of FAQs to understand exactly what the hell is going on. And once you've read

I assume it'd need to be a constitutional change rather than a legislative one, otherwise they could just rescind the law anyway. Which reminds me of one of my biggest objections to the US constitution: constitutional amendments are done si

Perhaps, but what's the cost of "fuck it, we'll just build a replacement Hubble" in Shuttle mission equivalents?

Since you'd need to put all this stuff in place before the event you want to see actually occurs, wouldn't it be easier to just break out a video camera and record it?

There isn't any research, but only cuz it's damn impossible. The number of photons ever emitted by Earth in the distant past which are gonna ever come back to Earth is... very very small.

Which is larger? The number of people who would object to "what is your gender" on weird-ass gender politics grounds, or the number of people who would object to "how do you wish to be identified?" on the grounds that it's ridiculous politi

It doesn't matter whether women are at actual risk; it's about the perception of risk. And what proportion of 'em perceive this risk when filling out a little box on the internet? You don't start a social network by alienating people, re

It's strange to think that in fifty years of manned spaceflight, NASA has only ever built four types of spaceship: Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, and Shuttle. The Shuttle had a good run. It was both technically awesome and in many ways ridiculous

Have you noticed that nobody apart from anti-war-on-drugs activists has actually used the phrase "war on drugs" since, like, 1985? It might be time to update your terminology. It was never a particularly good metaphor.

I'm rooting for it for rather more personal and selfish reason: 1. I'm a shareholder in GOOG 2. All the Facebook employees I've ever met have been kinda annoying, so I don't want to see those individuals get rich.
