My bad, for anyone wondering the same, I just read the source and it's Roboto (which google uses a lot so I should thought of that in the first place).

What's the font used on the page? It reads beautifully (especially in the "about") and I'd like to use it.

This idea sounds excellent and definitely some outside of the box thinking! However, if I had a team that I really work great with and trust, I'd probably do a startup instead with said team. That's just me though. I think this co

I enjoy reading articles like these for these reasons (in priority I might add): 1) I am and have been a space enthusiast since my first space shuttle Lego set 2) I am a big sci-fi fan 3) I am an Engineer 4) My dream is to go to / wor

This is sweet. Been a while since I worked in HW after switching to full time SW but this kind of news just makes me chuckle. Say a modern day FPGA has 10 million gates. 6 gates/LUT. That gives 1.6 million LUTS. Let's say half are

This is awesome! I wish I learned to code during high school. I can't imagine what level the next generation engineers/developers will be like if they start when they're teens. Limitless potential!

Is this really the case though? Wouldn't you want to produce results, facts, and data first? My sense is, prove it's safe first, then mass produce something that IS safe in the design you want. After all, once something is mass pr

Interesting, safety is usually not mentioned from the articles I've ready about the driverless car design. The two articles below kind of skimp about safety. Well, hopefully you're right and safety within the design was (and in my

I believe you're correct in that marketing did have a strong sway in the decision. But the fundamental principle behind Google has always been engineering and especially for something as crucial as safety, they should have stuck with s

I live in Mountain View and I see Google self-driving cars around all the time (day and night). My personal feel is that they look "different" and my attention will deliberately focus on them (which may or may not affect my drivin

You know what, as a developer and designer, I like it, I like it a lot. As an engineer I still can't really see why. Better than Airbnb logo though.

One of the best academic decisions I've made as a student was to take a course on Operation Systems in C. I did take a beginners course in C previously so it was an intermediate class. Nothing compares to spending hours and hours grind

This is pretty neat. As a professional iOS developer who loves Obj-C (yeh omg), this is a good set of projects/tutorials to compete step by step. I'd suggest cleaning up your code and posting on github. It'll be a great way f

Not sure if your question is sarcasm or not. Realistically, any startup can be afraid of Google, Facebook, Apple etc. If they decide to compete in your market and you can't adapt fast enough, you'll get crushed.

It's interesting how the article mentions this: "The last nail in the coffin came, of all places, from Apple." Funny how much the industry has changed in 8 years.

Great eye and I have to say, it really makes me think twice now that I look at the logo every time. However, it's still a subjective matter. Now the question is how long did it take the Google design team to decide on the Kerning? Must
