I am not advocating for the last one but what if the kid actually liked learning that language? What if local TV had memorable cartoons and more nice things (books, songs, etc)? This is the Catalan case. Grey-ish as life I guess.

Some languages open your understanding of the other ones from the same family tree. Learn one, and you are partially learning the other.

This reminds me of Short Wave radio. Its cool that there are some people and organizations (specially China) that emit across the globe to send news, football and more to anyone. Not so good signal, but its fun to try searching them.

See also the book series "Graphic Gems". Lots of great tricks, one of them was used in DOOM.

This can be true, last check with the doctor about the lungs revealed I had vitamin D deficiency. But I've been always sleepy, no matter what number of hours I sleep. I guess I have to praise the sun more often.

Just replace psychedelics with stoner music (or whatever makes you stay in trance), you dont need to use always substances. Writing helps sometimes, specially at late night when you begin to lose taboos and feel more talk-ative.

Ray Bradbury did this with Farenheit 451. He did a small demo with all the key aspects and then made the novel. You can do a lot of these small "demos" or short stories and save them for a future novel. Or instead write them toget

Its interesting to see the discrete case. Let D_n be a difference operator like D_n(F) = F(x+n) - F(x) Solving by induction for the equation D_n(F)/D_n(x) = F(x), F(0)=1, it gives (1+n)^(x/n). So now you have a "family"

Modern math is more abstract. Old math, like the one from primary school, was more inspired on physical phenomena and interactions with previous things. We need more "clever guesses"(lets see what happens if A is B because C) and
