Regardless of semantics, gradual replacement gave many of us much more hope than what actually happened, when Mozilla dismantled their Servo team.

$10 GitHub Copilot Pro plan works for me in VSCode. I've been exclusively using Claude Sonnet 4 model in VSCode and so far I've used 90% of the premium quota at the end of the months. I can always use GPT4.1 or GPT5-mini for free

There's now greater incentive for Zed to stuff more content in the prompts to inflate tokens used and thus profit more. Or at least be less zealous. This is not a new concern. And is not unique to Zed.

Rust is, in my opinion, overrepresented by a vocal minority in HN. A vocal corpus that tend to be passive aggressive more often than other language communities, in my experience. Which is sad because I like the language and find it useful.

plus, LLMs can generate suppressor files from logs. It's much faster these days. I've had success with this approach.

That's nice and all except the title is misleading and discouraging to new devs. I would even put a disclaimer on top of fixing the title. But I guess it wouldn't be clickbaity then.

If you are starting your career and panic reading such list, that would take years to learn, if even. Don't worry. Most of these items are more like nice to know than should know. Yeah it would be great if every software developer knew

Well that is an urgency that Deno folks created. So it seems the deed is done. > After more than 27,000 people signed our open letter to Oracle about the “JavaScript” trademark, we filed a formal Cancellation Petition with the US Patent

Oracle probably has a hundred lawyers that make more than $200k per year. If Deno tries to half-ass this case, they will be doing the JavaScript community a disservice by creating court precedent for Oracle.

Great example. I'm talking about the default behaviour of apps in the OS. GOG Galaxy is an app that redraws everything from scratch with bad UI. It's funny because they use floating controls with excessive spacing, just like Apple
