This is like GTP 2 of World Gen. 10 years from now we might have games that generate entire worlds based on the unique story line that's customized for each playthrough. Maybe even endless stories. Baldur's Gate 5 is going to be m

> The system ingests raw newspaper scans and uses a multi-step LLM pipeline to generate the daily edition This is neat! But I wonder about longevity of the project if it relies on scanning newspapers. Do you have an endless suply? Perhap

not your parent commenter and I have yet to have a problem with the branch name change but I could see it taking a long time to figure out. It's perfectly normal to assume branch names don't change often, specially master/mai

Without specifics it's hard to understand what kind of difficulties you had. But PHP is still so strong because it offers much more than "easy hosting". What I personaly love most is the instant save file->see results feed

If implemntations have been around for a while but it only happened now, then it's 99% chance that's it's Apple backpedalling and trying to weasel their way around DMA. They got smoked in court, see ruling at https:/&#x

This has not been my experience at all. PHP code requires very little maintenance to keep working for a decade+.

I would love that. But yeah, it would probably kill PHP because it would break all code. Maybe https://getrector.com could auto-fix 99% of code but it would still be very hard to get adoption.

Everyone understands Rust doesn't offer such guarantees. Even more now after this outage. But it's a fact that "if it compiles it runs" is often associated with Rust, in HN at least. A quick Algolia search tells me that.

can Rust handle global panics? Or can a unwrap be stopped? This is just a normal Tuesday for languages with Exception and try/catch.

And Apple is not even the last node in the chain. WebKit came from KDE's khtml Every year is the year of Linux.

There were languages with lifetimes and borrowing mechanics before Rust. Rust packages these mechanics in a nice way. Just like Zig encodes many niceties in a useful C language (comptime, simple cross-compilation, stdlib).

It's still hundreds of functionalities that they have to maintain themselves instead of leveraging a much more battle tested stdlib.

Java doesn't have lifetimes. So no. And C++ can only be beaten by the likes of K, J and brainfuck. Very low bar to clear.
