This can take a while. With the current fabrication process, they're only getting a chunk with LK-99 particles sprinkled in. Since nobody yet knows how to fabricate a pure chunk of LK-99, it'll be hard to measure the true resistan

My company enforced 2FA on our GSuite accounts and discouraged using SMS for 2FA. Well, every year a new iPhone comes out, employees buy the new iPhone and factory reset their old phone. Now their 2FA codes are gone. Only recently Google Au

Mr. Beast is a content creator creating content. It's pretty obvious he's doing it for content and he doesn't deny it either. I guess the sprinkle of "philanthropy" flavor is rubbing some people the wrong way but he

It's appalling some people are more upset that his motives were not altruistic than being happy for the people who got their eye sight back. Are we going to start criticizing doctors next because they're saving lives to get paid?

He started from nothing and he's still a billionaire so I wouldn't just dismiss him like that. He's just a different type of businessman who likes making big risky bets.

I went to Google IO in 2014 and it was very exciting as a young engineer. Google Glass, Google Cardboard, Modular Smartphone, 3D space scanning tablet, Android Wear, and Android Auto were all announced there. Now it seems Android Wear never

So you're telling me instead of the fragile and complicated shield on the James Webb Telescope, we could've used the entire moon as a shield?

China already has a rover on the far side of the moon so my hopes aren't high.

Once in a while I'll see news from Korea get blown out of proportion and make it to the front page of HN when the same topic didn't even make it to the front page of Korean news. This article made it sound like the government will

I think we now have the technology to build the talking portraits we saw in Harry Potter. Voice, facial movements, dialogs that matches the character can all be generated by AI now. I'm just not sure if this can be done realtime yet to

Even if the TV requires internet connection and the OS is garbage, once I set the input source to Chromecast, I never have to interact with the TV's OS.

by httpz 3y ago
Can someone tell me why this is a big problem? I just plug in a Chromecast with Google TV and I never have to touch the TV remote or see the TV's original Smart TV UI ever. Isn't this solvable by just plugging in a $50 streaming s

As the famous saying goes “Markets can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent”. There are many people who predicted the 2008 financial crisis but only a few of them were able to time it right make a profit.

Largest by market cap. That's mainly due to investor hype. With that logic, you can argue Nikola was a top 10 largest car company in the world at one point (with zero vehicles delivered). Tesla is not even in top 10 in terms of revenue

So you prefer to not put a password on your laptop because you prefer having a laptop that isn't capable of deciding you're not allowed to use it?

Another reason is that companies try to maximize profit, not profit per employee. If a company can 1.5x their profit by doubling their headcount, they would do it even if it seems less efficient because that's what the investors want.

Instead of Google Authenticator, I use Twilio Authy. It syncs the 2FA code across my devices. I keep a backup device at home. Sure, it's not the most secure way but I trust this over carriers securing my number.

I'm just annoyed with the word "death" being thrown around for the slightest decline or slow down. When a person hits their late teens and stops growing in height, you don't say death is the only thing awaiting them.
