From someone else with a three letter IG handle, I'm so sorry to hear about that. I'm perpetually paranoid about losing it.

Apps can do this by presenting a configuration profile to the user. This requires entering the passcode and a few steps - it’s not something they can do silently.

Looks like this app is the one mentioned in that article. They appear to do both Safari content blocking and use the VPN profiles to block DNS requests (as in no traffic hits their servers).

iOS doesn't. Apps using private APIs are not allowed on the App Store. Apple granted Uber an entitlement for a private API, but no other app has this: https://twitter.com/chronic/status/915930211941781504

They wanted to pay via PayPal. I'm not accepting anything reversible for it. Also, I don't want to be out of it if they report to Instagram that it's for sale etc.

I was lucky enough to get a 3 character Instagram handle back in the day. I get 5+ password resets a day and frequent offers for it - the most I've been offered is $25,000 for it. It's a pain.

I remember when Pokemon Go was the rage, a friends OnePlus would need to be plugged in to a battery bank the entire time, even then it still drained slowly.

Huge amount of R&D, sure. But the mining ASIC market is largely dominated by Bitmain right now.

I still don't see why we aren't seeing new ASIC suppliers set up shop. Is there a significant amount of R&D that goes into creating these chips?

This is the major (technical - plenty of political issues) problem I have with Bcash. It’s cheap and fast because transaction volumes, and price, are 10% of BTC, yet blocks are 1.5x the size (roughly, looking at a block explorer). As soon a

Not quite, this is just creating the installer ISO. However, macOS is perfectly happy to be installed on an external hard drive or USB drive, and that can be booted on any Mac that supports the macOS version on the drive.

Not the guy you asked, but here the speeds are set by the fibre infrastructure holders, not the ISP. So on residential connections the fastest you'll get is 900/500. I pay $129 NZD (~335 PLN). Not symmetrical, but damn impressive

Our government has invested a lot more into broadband infrastructure than Australia has. We rolled out FTTN (Fibre to the Node) for improved ADSL/VDSL years ago, and now FTTH is deployed in a lot of places so far. Australia proposed FT

The New Zealand Commerce Commission got grumpy when ISPs started selling gigabit plans as 1000mbit, as it's not realistically possible for consumers to reach those speeds. So, instead of gigabit, we get "up to 900/400Mbps&quo
