I would count this is as relevant feedback. sgt provides one reason why. To me, seeing something like this gives me the impression that the screenshot is not polished, that this detail was not paid attention to, and makes me wonder what els

I often find that the bigger problem with getting into an unfamiliar dev environment isn't syntax, rather it's getting to know the libraries. And if you're writing iOS apps, you'll need to know the libraries anyway. And yes Xcode is horribl

I'm considering creating a page where I own the space and the domain, but I put in just enough Facebook integration so that only people who are logged in to Facebook and are my friends can see it, and they can comment and Like photos as the

The videos that are accessible for free for Prime members are really a small subset, and it's very difficult to find anything worth watching there. If I'm looking to stream something, I still have better luck with Netflix.

1. You already knew how to design. In fact you are a very talented and well known designer. If you didn't have design skills, chances are a huge huge amount lower that anything you put out will make the rounds - design is super important,

This is one of the biggest problems with these trick questions - there really isn't a correct answer, just the answer that the interviewer wants to hear.

I don't agree with the browser-on-demand solution, and while I'm glad I can turn that option off, I don't think it goes far enough. What I want is for background tabs to be loaded after the current tab, and done in such a way that doesn't

I've seen that my battery life suffers when I have too many programs running that I don't currently use, so I make it a habit to close a program when I notice I haven't used it, or know I won't be for a few minutes.

I did this on a smaller scale within our SOA environment. We're told our DEV must connect to everyone else's DEV. The problem is everybody's DEV is unstable, because by nature, everything deployed there is a work in progress. If someone's s

That doesn't sound like what this is, though. Someone is just in an optimum state for learning, but still has to learn the subject.

Ahh thanks for this extra bit of info. I use an iPhone browser which lets me select my user agent, so in cases like these, I tell it to pose as Safari on a Mac. With this, I was able to read the post.

This is good for multiple reasons. One, it shows people that their voices do matter. They can contact their vendors and express opposition and if there are plenty enough of them, they can exert influence. Two, it shows other companies that

I wonder about the JS#/vendor lock in responses here in HN. We're talking about a macro language in MS Office , where your development and runtime environment is very well known (MS Office). I don't know how much portability demands you e

On my iPhone, it doesn't work as well. Yes, the dropdown selections show up, but the keyboard pops up as well, and on top of the selections, so unless you know that the selections are there, you won't even notice them.

Twitter has become like GMail for me - I access the service but not the application. I've been using the Mail app on the iPhone to access all my GMail accounts, and use Tweetbot for Twitter. The services keep tweaking their own UI's, but

If mastering English is your goal, then doing includes conversing. I know a lot of children of immigrants who can understand their parents' language, but can't converse in it.

At a certain point, it's no longer reading to gain more knowledge, it's about procrastination. Doing takes work, it requires making decisions, it requires critical thinking. Reading helps you delay this with an activity you can justify to y

They don't necessarily exclude one another, but they certainly can. Whether it matters to you or not depends on what your definition of "others" is, which is what I was trying to point out.

It depends on what your motivation is. Are you trying to feed your family (or buy a fancy car), or are you trying to change the world? “Only a life lived for others is a life worth while.” – Albert Einstein Again, you need to qualify this.

GitHub isn't a new version of Apache - GitHub is a new version of SourceForge. I don't think that even 10 years ago anyone with a line (or 100 lines) of code can set up their own Apache projects. 10 years ago if you needed free SCM, you'd u

The key is to identify how you can best contribute, so you know whether or not you're wasting your time. If you're a small team, everyone's time might be best spent coding to deliver the product. A slightly bigger team might mean your tim
