This is embarrassing and should be a lesson to other companies looking to "dump" AI into their products.

Would anyone use a macOS native animation editor?

You're so stuck in your line of thinking. How about you run an API and host the client in a native app? Problem solved. How about you don't run sshserver. Problem solved.

Is it? I really do though

It's not about that. Native is a more capable platform period. More performant, more permissions, etc. I get that a PWA makes sense for a startup or whatever but it's not for a better product it's for a cheaper product.

But really I’m not arguing Linux doesn’t make sense in some embedded applications ( I have an embedded product with Linux in it)

Embedded linux is everywhere. But arguing that's a reason to use it, or not a reason to use a microcontroller / SOC is wild. Each has tradeoffs.

Ha, I mean as a user the native iOS app is far superior to whatever Microsoft was pushing

How about just don't run SSH?

That may be the primary reason but I'm referring to a side product

Hot take: Apple is keeping app quality high by pushing out PWAs (which are just a way for developers to have an easier time, but not a better product).

How many engineers does 3M buy? Enough to risk running your own hardware? Maybe.

Until you find all the inconsistent behavior between chrome, Firefox and safari. Oh and mobile safari vs desktop safari. Bad accessibility support, poor programming languages, etc

That's really subjective. I've done web dev, embedded and now iOS. Quality of life has never been higher IMO

iOS developer here, CoreML is used for edge deployments in the ML space. Just not training. Obviously linux is king but that's for server side my dude.

Have you guys developed cross-browser PWAs? They are full of incosistencies, glitches and more. The quality achieved from native is far better. Sure if you're a startup and it's PWA or nothing, go for it. Else do a native app and
